LOCAL ITEMS

We are in receipt of a letter from
Mrs. C. C. Hawk (1843-1926) of Randolph, Ne-
braska, thanking her many Exira
friends for remembering her on her
eighty-third birthday anniversary,
Sunday, March 21. She says she en-
joys good health and that there were
twenty-four helped her observe her
birthday with a big dinner. She also
heard her daughter sing from radio
station WOAW on that day.

Note: Both Charles Conrad Hawk (1839-1919) and his wife Hannah Maria Hamlin (1843-1926) are buried at the Bowen Cemetery in Exira township, Audubon county, Iowa. Hannah was a daughter of Audubon county's first settler, Nathaniel Hamlin.
