HOSPITAL ASSURED FOR THIS COUNTY

Misses McIlvaine and McNally, Graduate Nurses, Lease Property in Audubon

A Hospital was assured for Audubon last week when a lease for the M. T. Foley house in the east part of that city was signed by Mr. Foley, and by Audubon men who have represented the Misses Cora McIlvaine and Rose McNally, who will assume the management of the hospital, in a business way.

Both Miss McNally and Miss McIlvaine were in Omaha last week, where they purchased equipment for the hospital.

The final closing of business arrangements which will at last give Audubon a hospital is the culmination of months of negotiation. All difficulties in the path of the proposed hospital have gradually been ironed out, and the two women, both of whom are graduate nurses, have been assured financial assistance by business and professional men of the city for the period of the lease, one year. After that, the future of the hospital will be determined largely by results obtained during the year.

The start will be made in a small way, but it is nevertheless a step in the right direction, according to popular opinion, and both the women who will assume the active management of the hospital, and the doctors, business and professional men of Audubon and others who have lent their hearty endorsement and financial assistance to the project have taken the step largely in the hope that once a start has been made, the advantages of a hospital in the county will be practically demonstrated, and that it will prove a stepping stone to something larger in years to come.
