Obituary

A. F. Grabill was born in Washington county, Pa., September 10th, 1839, removed to Iowa, 1858. Residing the greatest part of the time up to the year 1867 in the town of Albia, learning the blacksmith trade there, when he moved to the town of Moravia where he resided some fifteen years. During an illness of seven weeks his suffering has been great and at times intense pain in the head which he bore wiht great patience. He has been cheerful and happy with his family, and longing that he might be free from pain, he endured it with christian submission without murmuring or complaint, and on last Friday evening the 27th of October, 1882, he took his leave of earth and passed away, with many friends and family around him. Mr. Grabill was a faithful member of the C. P. church and had been for many years. His funeral sermon was preached on Sunday last by Ref. O. C. Hawkins to a large congregation at the church, then his remains were followed to its last resting place for internment by a large congregation. Mr. Grabill was an honorable man and a good citizen having many friends. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss. We, the citizens of Moravia and vicinity, deeply sympathize with the bereaved wife and family. Mr. Grabill always gave more to sustain the church than he was really able to and gave it cheerfully. It will be hard to find a man to fill the place of Bro. Grabill.
