G. Bennett rites set

PACKWOOD - Services for Gladys A. Bennett, 80, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Packwood Christian Church with the Rev. Donald Harbour officiating.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Cincinnati, the family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Gladys A. Bennett died at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

She was born Feb. 5, 1900 in Jefferson County at Coppock, the daughter of Henry Owen and Rosa Lemley Snider. She was reared and educated in the Cincinnati Community where she lived until moving to the Packwood Community in 1932.

Her marriage to C. Roscoe Bennett took place at Centerville Feb. 4, 1919. He preceded her in death June 23, 1977.

Mrs. Bennett served as librarian at the Packwood Library for the past 3 1/2 years; she was a member of the Packwood Christian Church and the Friendly Birthday Club.

Survivors include a son, Burl Bennett, Omaha, Nebr.; a daughter, Bernadine Richardson, Mulvane, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Gilbert Snider, Berley, Calif.; and a sister, Edna Oliphant, Oklahoma City, Okla.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by two sons, one grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
