Mrs. Eliza Meda Phelps, 95, a resident of Mystic passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Centerville Tuesday, May 6, 1975 at 4:15 a.m. She had been hospitalized 78 days.
Born April 22, 1880 near Lancaster, Mo., she was the daughter of Charles and Samantha Dooley. On Sept. 1, 1897, she was united in marriage with Jesse Lee Phelps. He preceded her in death May 23, 1956.
Her parents, two sons Albert and Ervin, two brothers Clay Dooley and Edward Dooley, one sister Grace Kelley also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Mary Stout of Des Moines, Mrs. Nellie Salasberry, Centerville; Mrs. Gertie Atwell, Promise City; Mrs. Ruth King, Corydon; one son, Elmer Phelps of Centerville, 30 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, 37 great-great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home in Centerville. Funeral arrangements are pending.
