OBITUARY

Fold away the little dresses
That are darling used to wear
She will need them on earth never
She has climbed the golden stare.

DIED April 1, 1889, of measles, the only daughter of Dan and Mary Stickler, age 4 years and 11 days. Little Cora's sufferings were more than tongue can tell. During her illness she never complained, never shed a tear, she only said, "Mamma I'm so tired." Yes but thanks be to God she is at rest now, she leaves father, mother, three brothers, with a host of other relatives to mourn her loss, but our loss is her great gain,, and while her bright and pleasant smile and her little songs are no more heard on earth, she is singing new songs in the New Jerusalem.

There is anguish in the household,
It is desolate and loan.
For a fondly cherished nursling
From the parents' nest has flown;
A little form is missing,
A heart has ceased to beat,
And the chains of love he shattered
At our desolate feet.

Remove the little empty chair,
Her clothing put away
And all the little playthings
With your choicest treasures lay
Strive not to check the teardrops
Which fall like summer rain.
The son of Hope shines through them,
Ye shall see her face again.

We gathered round her dying bed
With hearts to weep and pray;
And many were the tears we shed
When Cora passed away,
No bitter tears had she to weep;
No sin to be forgiven,
But closed her peaceful eyes in sleep
To open them in heaven.
