Centerville Citizen
Friday, June 20, 1873

This community lost a prominent and valued citizen last Monday in the death of Mr. R.N. Glenn. His remains, at his own request, were taken to Bloomfield for interment. A large number of citizens together with Odd-fellows went down to participate in the ceremony. At Bloomfield the OddFellows and many citizens met the party at the train and escorted the remains to the church.
Eld. F.M. Kirkham, at the request of the deceased, presided during the ceremony, and delivered an impressive address. Touching remarks were also made by John Williams and others. A large concourse of people turned out to attend the funeral; and the Bloomfield band played several appropriate pieces on the way from the church to the OddFellow’s Cemetery. Deceased had resided here about seventeen years and had a host of friends in this community. He leaves a widow and several children who will return to Ohio.
