Obituary
Lou Emma Bird Staley, daughter of George and Martha Swan Staley, was born November 9, 1872 in Wayne County, Iowa and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Olo Sulser, January 16, 1957 at the age of 84 years, two months and seven days.

In 1891 she was united in marriage to John Stephen Fenton to this union five children were born, Mrs. Ola Sulser of Melrose, Earl Fenton of Plano, and Roy, Martha and John who passed away in infancy.
Her husband, father, mother and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes preceded her in death.

Those left to mourn her passing are the two children Mrs. Ola Sulser and Earl Fenton and five grandchildren, Helen Scott of Moravia, Dwight and Jerald Fenton, Duane Sulser all of Melrose, John Sulser of Plano, eight great-grandchildren, Betty Lou Taylor, Shirley and Scott,Stephen, John Allen and Billy Sulser, also several nieces and nephews.

In early life she united with the Chariton (Brushy) and was always faithful in attendance as long as health provided.

Loving and kind in all her ways. Upright in just to the end of her days. Sincere and true, in her heart and mind. A beautiful memory she has left behind.

Funeral services were held at the Chariton River Baptist Church Saturday, January 19, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. T. S. Hammons of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Brushy Cemetery
