OBITUARY
Stephen A. D. Fenton
Milledgeville, May 23
The birth of S. A. D. Fenton was in Fulton County, Illinois, July 23, 1843twenty third, nineteen 1904, aged 60 years, nine months and 19 days. He was married to Carolina V. Corder. September 7, 1862. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom are still living, together hey mother and one sister to mourn the loss of one so dear.

Brother Fenton professed faith in Christ in 1869, and united with the Chariton River Baptist church, remaining a member of the body until called home to his reward after talking of his hope beyond this life.
The deceased volunteered in company F, 36 Iowa, September, 1864, and was taken prisoner at Marks Mills, Arkansas, April 25, 1864. He was held a prisoner of war near Tyler, Texas for 10 months and discharged in August, 1865. He will be greatly missed in the community where he had lived so long.

Funeral services were conducted May 13, at 11 AM by the pastor of the Chariton River Church, Rev. Jay. W. Jones, of Hedrick, Iowa.
The family have the sympathy of all the friends and neighbors. May the Lord bless them in their hour of sorrow because of the loss of one so dear to them.

DEATH OF S. A. D. FENTON
A Highly Esteemed Resident of Independence departs Life, Surrounded by Many Relatives and Friends.

Stephen A. D. Fenton the subject of this brief sketch was born in Fulton County Illinois July 23, 1843 and died at his late residence in Independence Township, May 12, 1904. Age 60 years, one month and 19 days. He was united in matrimony with Caroline V. Corder September 7, 1862. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom are living together with their mother and one aunt, sister of the departed, morning the loss of him ever held near and dear, one who was always kind and indulgent to his family.

The deceased professed faith in Christ as his redeemer it 1869 and joined the Chariton River Baptist Church, remaining a member of that body until called from time to eternity, called home to receive the reward in-store for the faithful. Before departing, having talked with his family of his hope in that home Beyond where sickness, death and parting will be no more.

The deceased volunteered in Company F, 36 Iowa September, 1862 was taken prisoner at Marks Mills, Arkansas, April 25, 1864 was held prisoner near Fort Tyler, Texas for about 10 months after which was released and discharged finally in August 1865. The departed will be greatly missed by his neighbors and friends in this community where he has resided for so long.

Funeral services were conducted May 13 at 11:00 AM by the pastor of the Chariton River Church, where friend Jay. W. Jones of Hedrick, Iowa. The family have the sympathy of all their friends and neighbors in missed their time of trial sense trouble. Made a giver of all good and perfect gifts
