Centerville Citizen
Saturday April 27, 1872

A young man named Michael Conner was killed near Princeton, Mo., last Wednesday afternoon. He was brakeman on a construction train on the C. & S. W. The train was being back down grade when a cow was struck and five cars thrown from the track down an embankment. Conner had both legs, several ribs and his back broken, the back part of his head crushed in and terrible bruises inflicted on all parts of his body. He was 25 years old and had been married about five months. His brother, who lives at Unionville, this county, took the body to Iowa City for burial.
