Died of congestion of the brain near Paola, Kansas, April 2d 1871, Roland Amel Bertram, infant son of O.S. and M.M. Cummins, aged 1 month and 16 days.

Lovely flower so soon departed,
Gone with angels bright to reign,
We kiss the rod through broken hearted,
Our loss is thine eternal gain.
