Emma Dotson
Emma "Iona" Dotson, 90, of Centerville, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, at the Hospice of Metro Denver in Aurora. Colo.
She was born Oct. 18, 1903, in Washington Township near Moulton, the daughter of Sam and Lillie B. (Hardman) Carr.
Survivors include a son, Paul Dotson and his wife, Joan, of Denver, Colo; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Enyll Matherly of Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marie Ballard; two sons, Ronald Charles and Russell L.; five sisters. Ola, Jessie, Edna, Fern and Welma; and a brother, Otto Carr.
She worked most of her life as a cook and waitress in local restaurants.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. July 14, at the Schmidt-Duley Funeral Home in Centerville with the Rev. Duane McCracken officiating the service. Burial
will be in Fairview Cemetery near Udell. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
A memorial has been established in her name to the hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
