From Wednesday's Daily.
STRICKEN FAMILY.

Second Death in the Morgan Home
Occurs Last Evening.

MR. MORGAN'S LIFE ENDED.

Alexander Morgan Dies of Typhoid Fever
at his Home West of Town Last Night.
Soon Followed the Wife and Mother to
the Grave—Four Children vet Hovering
Between Life and Death.

The family of Alexander Morgan, who lives two miles west of Centerville, has again been visited by death from the ravages of that insidious disease, typhoid fever. For the past four weeks the death angel has constantly hovered over the home, and three weeks ago the mother, Mrs. Morgan, after only a few days' illness, breathed her last, conscious
as her life went out that her four children and the husband were all suffering from the same fatal disease, and which again terminated fatally last evening in the death of the husband and father.
Mr. Morgan's life has been hanging by a slender thread for many days, but previous to his serious illness and before the disease had so thoroughly fastened upon him, he would not give up and insited on ministering to his loved ones
until from tireless watching and worry he fell an easy victim to the fell destroyer, his system having become so thoroughly impregnated with the disease that there was no chance for his recovery and the end came last night as
above stated. The condition of this family is indeed a most pitiable one, the father and mother both silent in death and four children lying at death's door, unconscious of the great calamity that has befallen them, and leaving them almost in destitute circumstances, without the stay of a father or the guiding hand and love of a mother. Of the children, little Robert has been taken to the home of A. Dargavel in
this city, where he is receiving the best care possible and is beginning to show some hopeful signs of recovery. Barbara and Charlie are at their home and suffered a severe back-set last night, but little if any chances being entertained for their final recovery. Allen, the fourth afflicted one, is reported as improving slowly, but is not out of danger. Mr. and Mrs. Dargavel, relatives of the family, and a few friends are giving their entire time and attention to the stricken ones and are hopeful for the best.
Mr. Morgan was 48 years of ago and had only been a resident of the county since last spring. He moved his family here from Callender, Iowa, and
rented the Sawyers farm northwest of town, where they now live. The father was an industrious worker and assisted by the older children was providing for his family and getting along nicely until that almost incurable disease, typhoid fever, came upon them and blighted their chances for prosperity and even life. The sympathy of the people of Centerville cannot be too deeply expressed for this family of children, who are such great sufferers.
The funeral of the deceased took place at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Dale church conducted by Rev. S. W. Pollock of this city, the services and sermon being in memory of both Mr. and Mrs. Morgan. The interment took
place in the Dale cemetery.
