Centerville Daily Citizen
September 23, 1896

—Mrs. Morgan, the wife of Alexander Morgan, who lives just went of town, died yesterday morning of typhoid fever. Mrs. Morgan, although not well
the day before, did not go to bed until Monday evening at 5 o'clock. She died the next morning at 10 o'clock. The funeral was held from the house this morning at 9 o'clock. Four of the children are now down with typhoid fever and are said to be very dangerously sick. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan were not well known here as they just moved to this locality from near Des Moines
last fall, but the sympathy of the entire community is extended to Mr. Morgan and the remaining children in their bereavement and misfortune. The two youngest children who were not taken with the fever are being cared for at the home of A. Dargavel, to whom Mr. Morgan is related.
