JAMES McGREW DEAD
Well Known Sharon Township Citizen
at End of Life

James F. McGrew, aged 68 years, died Wednesday morning at the home of his son, Claud, in Sharon township, where he had been taken from the hospital. He had been in failing health for sometime, and was taking treatment. After having some teeth pulled he became sick recently in Centerville and was taken to the hospital.
After being there for a few days he showed some improvement and was taken home. He did not recover consciousness after that and passed away with his children about him, except the daughter living in Kansas. The children are: Eddie, wife of Wm. Beach; Alice, wife of Dave McFall; and Claudius, living on the home place, all of this county; and Belle, wife of Jake Spangler, of Kansas.
Mr. McGrew had long been a resident of this county and was considered one of its best citizens. He was a member of the United Brethren church, an old soldier of the Sixth Iowa Inf., was industrious, had a good farm, and was esteemed by his neighbors. His wife died last December and was buried just eight months to a day before he was laid to rest. His funeral was conducted by Rev. J. H. Kock, the Methodist minister of Unionville.
