Adam Angst Sr.
Adam Angst Sr. was born Nov. 28, 1844, near Wiel, Switzerland, and died at his home near Centerville, Iowa, Aug. 27, 1914 being 69 years, 8 months and three days of age.
He came with his parents to this county when but a child and settled in Davis county. They afterwards came to this county where he was married to Miss Terresa Baula Dec. 31, 1867. To this union nine children were born, two of whom preceded their father to the great beyond. They were Jacob aged 3 weeks and Josephine aged 5 years. Those who are left with their mother to mourn an ever kind husband and father are
Mrs. Jas. Dawson, of Centerville; Mrs. C. R. Inman, of Lander, Wyo; Adam Jr., Chas., Marion, Mrs. Laura Sparks and Mrs. Roy Clark, all of Centerville. He also leaves two brothers, Jacob, of Bloomfield and Conrad of Udell. He with his wife joined the United Brethren church many years ago, and his life has been marked by the highest christian ideals. He was greatly attached to his home and his children, who with his companion will sorely miss his kind face among them. The community has lost a good citizen and his many friends a true friend.
The funeral was held at the Mt. Ararat church and burial was in the cemetery near by with his children.
