Obituary
David D. Shaeffer, son of Martha Jane and Aron McBabe was born October 29,1871 at his home 4 ½ miles north of Mystic and departed this life at his home in Mystic at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 3 days.
In his early manhood he united with the Christian Church. In the year of 1920 he united
in marriage with Edna Stickler To this union two sons were born, Roy David and Clarence Lee.
In his passing he is survived by his widow Edna, two sons Roy David and Clarence Lee; and also his daughter-in-laws, Alma and Nancy; 3 grand daughters, Linda Sue, Karen Ann and Bonnie Lee; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; besides a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Leroy; his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Swanson Funeral Home at Mystic with Rev. George Swan officiating. Three beautiful hymns were sang by Mrs. Blanche Smallwood and Mrs. Ruby Webb with Mrs. Velma Milburn at the piano. The pallbearers were his nephews: Everett, Wilford, Garold, Ralph, Gail and Ray Stickler. Burial was at the Shaeffer cemetery.
