Helen E. Bear
Helen Elizabeth Bear, 81, a resident of Centerville the past 30 years, who
resided at 409 West Madison Street, died in St. Joseph Hospital, Centerville, Wednesday, November 30, 1977. She had been in ill health several months, and a hospital patient two days.
Born March 24, 1896, in the Gladstone vicinity, west of Centerville, she was the
daughter of Isaac and Adalaide Hileman Fry. In 1913, she was married to Robert E. Bear at her family home. He preceded her in death in 1947.
The family at one time resided in Mystic. She was a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one step-brother, Oscar Brandon; two half-brothers, Frank Dignan and Earl Fry;
two half-sisters, Essie Loofbourrow and Chloie Fry. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Nevella) Shepard, Mystic rural route; and Mrs. John (Deloris) Bohm, Harvey, Ia.; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and one half-sister, Jessie Bear, Panorama City, Calif.
Services will be Saturday, and Dr. Charles Bare will officiate. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
