Charles Freeborn, 97, of Moulton died Thursday at the Bloomfield Care Center. He was born near Dean, Iowa, on March 16, 1891, to Richard and Mary Isabelle Albertson Freeborn. He married Minnie Belle Arie on Sept. 8, 1910, in Oakley, Kansas. He married Geraldine Horn on March 31, 1949, and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1980. He farmed most of his life. He was a member of Moulton Sincerity Lodge 317 of the Masonic Order. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virgie Allen; two brothers, Harry and Clarences; and two sisters, Mary and Marcy McKenzie. Survivors are two daughters, Vivian Marvin of Moulton and Beulah Sweeden of Mesa, Ariz.; tow sons, Orville on Cincinnati and Gene of Floris, Iowa; two stepsons, Dale Horn of Moulton and James Horn of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Duley Funeral Home in Moulton with the Rev. Duane Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. A Masonic service was at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
