OBITUARY

Ruby More Boyer

Ruby Zulu More, daughter of Mathew and Elizabeth More , was born on the old homestead on Soap Creek four miles northeast of Unionville, Ia., on August 10, 1883.

Being one of a large family she was taught from childhood the habits of industry, self-control and consideration for others which made her companionship so agreeable in later life.

Having naturally a sympathetic disposition she was always ready to help others in trouble or in need of help, never burdening others with her own troubles and physical ailments but bearing them cheerfully.

Having religious parents there was instilled into her life the principles of righteousness. She was always faithful in her attendance at Sunday School and church services from childhood, even the day before her death being present at Sunday School. In her girlhood she was converted at a revival meeting at the Liberty church, remaining an active member there as long as church services were kept up at that place. She then united with this church where she was a faithful member until her Heavenly Father called her home.

During the last years she has been a great sufferer but always patient and having a strong faith in the providence of God.

At the age of 22 she was united in marriage with Eugene Boyer. To this union were born four children: Leil Koehler, Lulu Stocker, both of this community, and Clifford and Marjorie both at home. These with the bereaved husband, two grandchildren, three brothers, Orville of Centerville, Everett of Des Moines, Paris of Unionville, and five sisters, Jessie Tomlin, Nannie Swaim , Metta Harrington of Unionville, Addie Swaim of Drakesville, and Ora Harrington of Ottumwa, with a large circle of nephews and nieces and other friends, are left to mourn her loss.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her father having passed to his reward about one and a half years ago, and her mother exactly one month prior to her daughter’s death.

A precious form from us is gone,

A voice we loved is still.

A place is vacant in our home,

Which never can be filled.

But still we know within our

Hearts so broken here with grief

That in our Father’s home above

She will watch and wait for each

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 1st, at the M.E. church in Unionville, Iowa. Interment was made in the Unionville cemetery.

The pallbearers were six nephews, John Tomlin, Russell Swaim, Orris Harrington, Maynard More, Basil Swaim and Ralph Whicker.

Music was by a mixed quartet, consisting of Mrs. Emily Plitt, Ruth Allender, P.A. Bair, A.L. Lyon, with Mrs. Vietch at the piano.

The great abundance of flowers told of the love in which she was held in the community.
