Prominent Couple
Married 62 Years

MR. AND MRS. G. T. MOORE MARRIED
NEAR MOULTON 62
YEARS AGO

Sixty-two years ago today (Thursday) occured a happy wedding. It took place at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Gale, one mile west
of Moulton. The bride was Miss Alice Gale, a popular young lady of the community. The groom was G. T. Moore, an energetic and well liked
young farmer. Today, by the grace of God and their own clean living, they are smiling looking toward the setting sun. Mr. and Mrs. Moore held open house for their friends and although their health is somewhat broken they still enjoy the comfort and companionship of their friends. They are the oldest married couple in Moulton.
That, in itself is a distinction since there are four couples here who have passed their 60th wedding anniversary. They are devout members of
the local Christian church where they have given freely of their time and money for its advancement. They have so lived their lives that they are a worthy example for others to follow. The community respects and honors this fine couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Moore have twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. It is quite unusual to note that there has only been two deaths
in the Moore family during the past 62 years.
Mr. Moore will be 87 years old in June and Mrs. Moore was 82 last September.
The Tribune joins with their innumerable friends, in wishing them continued happiness with an abundance of good health thrown in.
