ROBERT SPURGEON MARRIED
Sunday, June 8, Miss Carol King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd King of Centerville, was united in marriage to Robert Spurgeon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Spurgeon of Moulton.
The single-ring service was read by the Rev. C. E. Francisco at the Central Church of Christ in Centerville at two o'clock. The matron of honor was Mrs. Dale Stevens of Newton, and sister of the bride. Carl Ross of Centerville was best man.
The bride wore a ballerina gown of white nylon net over satin, styled with strapless bodice, with an attached shoulder stole of matching net,
and a full net skirt. She wore a white lace half-hat set with rhinestones, white nylon gloves, and her necklace was three strands of pearls.
Her bouquet was red roses.
The matron of honor wore a ballerina gown, of pale yellow net over yellow taffeta, styled with strapless bodice and full skirt. She wore a
small white hat, and carried red and white carnations.
The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, following the ceremony. The bride's table spread with white lace, was centered with a large wedding cake.
Mrs. Spurgeon chose for her traveling dress a navy blue linen with white accessories. The couple left for a honeymoon in the Ozarks.
The bride was graduated from the Centerville high school in 1951, and had been employed at the Supply grocery store. Mr. Spurgeon was
graduated from Moulton high school in 1946, and is a farmer. They will live on the Mrs. Inez Ransom farm, north of Moulton.
