Verdict of Manslaughter
The jury in the Wright murder case, which has been on trial in the District Court in Centerville, returned a verdict of manslaughter. Wright shot and killed Peter Papach in a liquor joint in Mystic last January and set up as a defense temporary insanity from mental epilepsy. The case was quite a noted one on account of Wright’s previous good record, and the notorious record of Papach, he being the keeper of the liquor joint in which he was shot. Wright was a member of Company E of the Fiftieth Iowa during the Spanish War, and is a young man of exceptionally good character. The shooting was caused over a dispute in the price of drinks.
