R. J. THMAS, farmer, Sec. 14; P.O. Centerville; born June 13, 1822, in Wales; in 1831 came to Pittsburgh, Penn.; remained there till 1872 when he removed to Appanoose Co.; they own 240 acres of land. Married Evaline, daughter of Cornelius Delavan, of New Jersey, Feb. 20, 1845; she was born in December 1825, in Ohio; have seven children - Maria, Minerva, Harrison P., Evaline C., George D., Reuben M., and Lillie B. Republican; Presbyterian.
