JESSE GRAVES

Jesse Graves was born in Richmond, Va.; birthdate unknown. He married Amanda Langhorn in 1873, moving to Moulton in 1878. They had a family of twelve children with six growing to adults and were Thorton, Jesse, Anna, Minerva, Frada and Bessie. Amanda was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Langhorn and born at Saline Co., Mo., Dec. 6, 1854. Jesse died in 1923 and Amanda died 1933 and both are buried at Oakland cemetery.

Jesse was of large stature and did much manual labor such as digging wells and graves with his spade and mixing cement with his hoe.
