Harold 'Shorty' Henry Frye, 93, of Hayward, died Monday, Sept. 12, at the Valley Health Care Center.

He was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Postville, Iowa, the son of Henry and Mabel (Monty) Frye. He was a truck driver for 25 years and also owned and operated Frye's Coffee Shop in Cumberland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and playing solitaire. He liked being with his friends down at the Vet Center and just 'watching traffic.'

He is survived by a son, Les Frye, Whitehall, Wis.; a daughter, Darlene (Ray) Capuzzi, Cumberland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Fry, Hayward, and Cliff (Donna) Frye, Milwaukee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral: A memorial service was conducted Sept. 17 at the Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery.
