RITES HELD FOR CARL J.SCHULTZ

Funeral services were held Monday, December 5,2:00p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church for Carl J. Schultz,who passed away at Community Memorial Hospital here on December 1. The Rev. Dick Harberts,pastor of the church was in charge.Burial was in the Monona city cemetery.

Carl John Schultz,son of Carl and Maria Krogman Schultz, was born July 10, 1889 in Grand Meadow Township,Clayton County. He passed away following a weeks illness at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville,at the age of 77 years,four months and 21 days.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith at St.Paul Lutheran Church,Postville, June 11,1890.He was confirmed at St. John`s Lutheran Church,Luana,March 27, 1904,he received his education in the rural schools of Grand Meadow Township.

Carl Schultz was united in marriage to Margaret E. Meier on April 2,1927 at Waukon. to this union three children were born,one passing away in infancy,Marvin who passed away October 10,1966 and Mary Lou Schultz,at home

He was farmer his entire life until he retired and moved to Luana in 1944. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church,Postville.

Survivors include his wife,Margaret, a daughter, Mary Lou, two grandsons,Randy Lee and Susan Marie Schultz; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Schultz of Shellsburg; two brothers,Emil and Harold. both of Postville;and a number of other relatives and friends/

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers,Henry of Luana,Fred of Monona,William of Postville, Louis of Luana,and one sister, Mrs. Charles Schutte of Postville.
