Linda Hofer

Funeral services were held for Linda Hofer Monday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville. Rev. Dick Harberts officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Linda Lou Hofer, daughter of Alfred and Ethel (Smith) Watts, was born July 12, 1936 at Postville, Iowa. She died Friday, April 15, 1988 at her home in Postville.

She graduated from Luana High School. On July 22, 1955 she married Philip Hofer in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. The couple had 3 children. They have lived in the Postville area all of their lives. Linda has been employed as a Nurse's Aide and as a Chiropractor's assistant.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Watts.

Surviving are her husband, Philip, 2 sons, LeRoy and his wife, Pam, of Oakland, CA and Jerry and his wife, Danette, of Newhall, IA, a daughter, Julie and her husband, Jim Popelka, Cedar Rapids, IA, 4 grandchildren, Garrett and Sean Hofer and Jessica and Jacob Popelka, her mother, Ethel Smith of Volney, IA and a brother, James Watts of Volney.

Linda was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the Ruth Circle of the U. P. W. She was also a member of the Polka Club of Iowa.

Casket bearers: Marvin Kleve, S. J. Drahos, Howard Stumme, Al Vonderhaar, Glen Bente and Romuald Elsbernd.
