Louis Gerhard Droivold, 92, of Spring Grove, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He was born March 10, 1910, in Waterloo Ridge Township, Allamakee County, IA, to Anders and Ingeborg (Danielson) Droivold. He never married.

He attended rural school in Allamakee County and was a lifelong Dorchester, IA, Spring Grove area resident. He was a farm laborer in the area and later worked for Green Thumb until his retirement. He was a very quiet, easy going person.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by nine brothers, one sister and five step-sisters.

Services were held Tuesday, May 21, 10:30 am, at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church in rural Spring Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Arndt Braaten officiated. Friends called Monday from 4-6 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
