Mrs. Harold Meyer Interred Saturday

Services for Mrs. Harold Meyer, who died December 6 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah, were held Saturday, December 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. The Rev. Arthur Tolo officiated.

Elsie Blumhagen, daughter of Henry and Anna Schutte Blumhagen, was born on a farm near Castalia in Bloomfield Township June 26, 1906. She was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, October 14, 1906 and confirmed September 11, 1921. She received her education in the rural school of Bloomfield Township known as the "Blumhagen" school.

On April 2, 1930 she was united in marriage to Harold Meyer and spent her entire married life on the same farm near Castalia. Three children were born to the couple.

Her husband Harold survives, as do her sons Cloy and Duane and daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Marlys) Hager, all of Castalia; also a stepson, Arthur of Atlantic, Iowa; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd, Henry and Alvin Blumhagen of Castalia; two sisters, Mrs. William (Minnie) Bugenhagen, Jr. of Luana and Elda Blumhagen, Castalia.

Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, George, Louis, Arno and Carl Blumhagen, and a sister Mabel.

Interment was in the Postville cemetery.
