Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Ole Orness

The death of Mrs. Ole Orness, 80, occurred Monday, March 11th at 12:30 a.m. at the Cresco hospital where she had been taken on Sunday evening the night before at ten o'clock for an emergency operation. Services were held last Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Burke Funeral Chapel in Lansing with Pastor David Vaaler of Waukon officiating.

Rosa Mathilda, daughter of John and Julia Ann "Schwarzhof" Rothermel, was born May 29th, 1882 in French Creek township. She was united in wedlock with John E. May, deceased in 1898. One son, Harold E. May, was born to this union and he passed away suddenly on December 2nd, 1956. On December 1th she was united in marriage to Ole Orness, who survives and is a bed-patient at the Good Samaritan Home in Cresco. Other survivors include four grand-children: Mrs. Andrew J. Martin (Louise) Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Mrs. Kevin Paul (Betty) Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Marvin Wolf (Adeline) Cuba City, Wis.; Carl O. May, rural Lansing; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Simensen, Waukon; ten great grandchildren and three great great grand-children.
Mrs. Orness was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, of Lansing and pall bearers were Dewey and Howard Leppert, John and Lawrence Weber, Herbert Fritz and Herbert Feuerhelm.
