Mrs. EMMET F. (Esther L. Thompson) DREIER

Esther L. Dreier, 96, of Waukon, formerly of Postville, died Friday, January 2 at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon of natural causes.

Esther was born April 2, 1907, in Clermont, the daughter of John Henry and Marguerite Ellen Wells Thompson. She married Emmet F. Dreier August 25, 1930, in Castalia. They farmed in the Postville/Castalia area for 38 years. He died June 3, 1986.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis Dreier of Pipestone, Minn., Dennis Dreier of Clermont, and Neil Dreier of Durand, Ill.; two daughters, Wanda Pape of Cedar Falls and Nadine Koester of Waukon; one brother, Frederick Thompson of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Richard and Duane Thompson; and three sisters, Bessie Odekirk, Mildred Muchow, and Ann Fitz.

Memorial services and interment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Nadine Koester, Waukon IA 52172. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel Downtown Waterloo is in charge of arrangements.
