John E. French

Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home, Saturday, December 28, at 1:30 p.m. for John E. French who passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, December 26, [1968]. The Rev. Richard Housman was in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

John E. French, son of Harvey and Orpha Payne French, was born May 20, 1893. He was a resident of the Postville community all of his life. He served military duty in World War I.

Surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Cora E. Foels of Postville; Mrs. Jayne Staders of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Lydia Myron, of Decorah and Mrs. Francis Jagerson, Lockhart, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Etta Dundee and four brothers, Charles, Tom, Jim and LeRoy.
