WILLIAM J. FRITZ 1864-1918

William J. Fritz, also known as Jacob William, was born 2 May 1864 in Allamakee County, according to his death record. The grave marker shows his birth date as 2 May 1861. He died 18 April 1918 in Allamakee County.

William J. Fritz married his first wife, Mary Stauffacher, 16 February 1891. [Allamakee County, Iowa Page 231] The marriage took place in Makee Township. Mary was born 26 April 1857 and died 18 August 1894. Burial not documented.

The second marriage was not documented but his wife's name was Matilda. She was born 14 July 1875 and died September 1959 as shown on her grave marker. She is buried with William J. Fritz. They are buried in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery, Allamakee County, Iowa.

William J. Fritz' parents were John M. Fritz and Margareth Sauer. The informant for the death record was John C. Fritz, Church, Iowa.
