CONRAD FRITZ
Sudden Summons for Conrad Fritz
The sudden death of the above well known resident yesterday morning shocked the community and caused a feeling of sadness to pervade his many friends. He went to bed in his usual health and shortly after midnight was taken sick and a doctor called. He rallied after receiving a hypo and was apparently allright until about 5 o'clock, when another attack set in which proved fatal. Mr. Fritz had never complained of heart trouble but had suffered from rheumatism off and on for years.
Deceased was born in Switzerland October 21, 1849 and came to this country and Allamakee County in 1866 which has been his home. On November 3, 1897, he was married to Miss Freda Nees, of Lycurgus and they started housekeeping at once at New Albin (continuing the wagon business of his brother Louis (Ludwig), who had died about that time) where they lived until five years ago when they moved to this city.
One daughter, Miss Meta, engaged as a stenographer in Dubuque, with the widow and one brother Wm E. Fritz of Church, survive him. The funeral takes place from the family home on Diagonal Street at 2 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon, interment in the German cemetary on Lansing Ridge. Peace to the ashes of an old friend and a good citizen.
Date of death 12 May 1925.
