Mrs. FRED (Caroline "Minnie" Stille) GUESE

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 3, 1957 for Mrs. Fred Guese, 80, at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Ludlow township with the Rev. John Bartell in charge of the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Guese passed away November 1, 1957.

Mrs. Fred (Minnie) Guese, born Caroline Wilhelmine Auguste Stille to the late Henry and Minnie Stille (nee Klocke) on March 31, 1877 at Quincy, Illinois. She passed away at her home in Postville on November 1, 1957 following a lingering illness at the age of 80 years, seven months and one day.

She lived at Quincy, Illinois until 1904 and came to this community with her mother after the death of her father. Her mother's relatives lived in this community. She was baptized and confirmed in the Salem's Evangelical Church at Quincy, Illinois and united with that church. Since March, 1906 she was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Ludlow.

She was united in marriage with Fred Guese of Postville on December 6, 1905. To this union three children were born: Lydia, Minnie (Mrs. Ervin Goeke), and Arthur.

Mrs. Guese was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant sister and a brother, and an infant granddaughter. She is survived by her three children; three grandchildren, Janice, Lyle and Joyce Guese; relatives and friends.
