Mrs. Henry Hager, 82, Passes Away On Friday

Mrs. Henry Hager, a resident of Ludlow township for more than 63 years, passed away Friday night at Waukon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Nolting, which whom she had been living recently.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Bethlehem Presbyterian church in Ludlow, with the Rev. G. E. Reibert, pastor of the church officiating. Burial in cemetery nearby.

Mrs. Hager was born as Sophia Grotegut, Nov. 4, 1863, in Manitowoc, Wis., as the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Simon Grotegut, who settled in this county many years ago. She was married to Henry Hager who passed away in 1923. For some time Mrs. Hager lived in Frankville.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nolting and Mrs. Melvin Ewing of Waukon, Mrs. Earl Livingood of Frankville and Mrs. Albert Henning in Ludlow; six sons, William of Milwaukee, Wis., Henry and Fred Hager of Postville, Edward Hager of Waukon, and Otto and Elmer Hager of Castalia, two brothers, Simon and Henry Grotegut of Waukon; and four sisters, Mrs. William Snitker and Mrs. Lydia Thoma of Waukon, Mrs. Fred Bechtel of Ludlow and Mrs. Mary Biebermeyer of Manitowoc, Wis.

Notes: Sophia's mother was Wilhelmina (Goeke) Grotegut.
