Services for Dr. James Hardesty, 55, who died at his home at Postville February 2, 1950, after a six months illness, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Winneshiek Funeral Home. Rev. Floyd Weed officiated. Burial was at Freeport Cemetery.

Dr. Hardesty was born July 22, 1894, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hardesty and came to Freeport at the age of six months. He was united in marriage with Hilda Meyer, June 1931, and attended Lincoln Chiropractic College at Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated in 1934. They came to Postville in 1935 where he practiced his profession.

Mr. Hardesty was a member of the A. F. & A. M. Great Lights Lodge No. 181 and a member of the First World War.

He is survived by his wife and several cousins.
