WILLIAM LUDWIG KAMP 1883-1957

Funeral services are being held this afternoon (Wednesday), 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville for William Kamp of Castalia, who passed away Monday at Postville Hospital. The Rev. C. E. Witt is in charge of the rites.

Born In Bloomfield. William Ludwig Carl Kamp was born August 26, 1883 in Bloomfield township, the son of Fred Kamp and his wife Louise Meier Kamp. He passed away at the Postville Hospital on June 17, 1957 after a lingering illness, at the age of 73 years, nine months and 21 days.

He was baptized on May 18, 1884 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville and confirmed on April 11, 1897.

He was united in marriage on October 4, 1901 to Bertha Martens. They farmed between Postville and Castalia for many years, and in recent years have made their home in Castalia. To this union were born five children, Edward of Castalia, Arthur of Minnesota, Emil of Castalia, Lloyd of Castalia and Velma, Mrs. Clarence Nelson of Postville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Louis. He is survived by his wife, five children, Mrs. Fred Doane (Ruby) of Ossian, Mrs. George Schultz (Ella) of Postville, Mrs. Edmund Meyer (Clara) of Cedar Rapids, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

-notes: The survivors of William Kamp are his wife; five children; three SISTERS, Mrs. Fred Doane (Ruby) of Ossian, Mrs. George Schultz (Ella) of Postville, Mrs. Edmund Meyer (Clara ) of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
