Mrs. WILLIAM J. (Eltha M. Meyer) KLINGBEIL

Graveside services were held for Eltha M. Klingbeil, 87, Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 13, 1980. Mrs. Klingbeil died at her home in Emporia, Kan. Thursday, Aug. 7. Blair Colonial Mortuary, Emporia, was in charge of cremation and arrangements. Private internment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Eltha, daughter of George and Louisa (Meyer) Thoma, was born in Postville, July 25, 1893. She was married to William J. Klingbeil, June 15, 1916, also in Postville.

Klingbeil was the publisher of the Postville Herald newspaper from 1916 until his retirement in 1948. The couple then moved to Mesa, Ariz. after retirement. He died Aug. 23, 1973 in Mesa.

She moved to Emporia in 1978. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist where she was serving on the church board and was also a member of the Mother Church in Boston, Mass.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William H. (Eulalia) Seiler of Emporia; and Mrs. John (Kathryn) Ashmore of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Walter Plaht of Postville.
