MILO MILLER LIVINGOOD 1908-1998

Milo Miller Livingood, the son of Willard Sidney and Effie Mae (Miller) Livingood, was born September 8, 1908, in Post Township, Allamakee County, north of Postville, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, November 22, 1998, in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. He had reached the age of 90 years, two months and 14 days.

Milo was baptized as an adult on April 8, 1973, by the Reverend Dick Harberts, and was accepted into the membership of the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. Milo attended the country school, Ludlow No. 7 and the Myron School.

On June 18, 1941 Milo was married to Beulah Bell Ralston in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Judy and Roger. They farmed north of Waukon and then near the Myron area until February of 1970, when they moved to their home on East Greene Street in Postville. Milo spent his time building fence and doing other odd jobs in the area. He especially liked to read and also played cards and watched basketball on television.

Surviving are a son, Roger Livingood and his wife, Gloria of DeBary, Florida, a son-in-law, Donald Kuhse of Postville; five grandchildren, Rhonda and husband, Ray Curran of Postville, and their children, Brenda, Rebecca, and Chelsea; Gail Livingood-Marsengill and husband, Kelly Marsengill, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and their daughter, Caitlin; Vicky and husband, Duane Fisher, of West Chester, Iowa, and "Zeb" (Zebulon); Carman and husband, Dean Straitiff and children, Ashely Bayne and Mathew Straitiff; and Carmel Barclay.

Also surviving are a sister, Irene and husband, Francis Hoops, of Portland, OR., five sisters-in-law, Lulu Livingood of Waukon and Mildred Livingood, of Rochester, MN.; Marjorie Schutte of Decorah, IA., Roberta Livingood and husband, William of Waukon, and Lucille and husband, Wilburt Topel, of Milwaukee, WI; three brothers-in-law, Gerald Ralston and wife, Nancy, of Escondido, CA., Dale Ralston of Lenexa, KS., and Leon Ralston and wife, Pauline, of Dubois, WY.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, who died September 19, 1998, a daughter, Judy (Mrs. Donald Kuhse), who died September 16, 1998, twin grandsons, Dayton and Darrin Kuhse, four brothers, Russell, Bryon, Sidney and Kenneth Livingood; three brothers-in-law, Curtis Ralston, Ruben Schutte, and George Gelo.
