Dalia Reka Heins Moon

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church here for Mrs. Roy Moon, 51, who passed away May 24, 1951 at Postville. Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Dalia Reka Heins Moon, daughter of Charles F. Heins and Marie Dahms Heins, was born December 8, 1899, in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, and departed this life on May 24, 1951, at Postville, aged 51 years.

Mrs. Moon was received into active membership in the Lutheran church on April 5, 1914. Mrs. Moon was united in marriage with Roy W. Moon of Monona on May 1, 1918. To this union two children were born, both of whom survive the passing of their mother. Mrs. Moon spent her entire life as a resident of the Postville community. At an early age she accompanied her parents to their new home northwest of Postville. Here she grew to womanhood.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Moon established their home on a farm south of Monona, where they remained for one year. In the year 1919 they removed to the present home farm in Grand Meadow township. Mrs. Moon was an active member of St. Paul's, as well as the Women of the Church. She was also an active member of the Grand Meadow Country Club for more than 30 years.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband; two daughters: Bernice, Mrs. Roger Pearson, of Castalia, and Jeanne, a teacher in the Mason City school system; two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. C. F. Heins of Postville; one brother, Leo Heins, of Postville; one sister, Clara, Mrs. Sydney Hutchins, of Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Harry Heins; one sister, Esther Heins, at an early age.
