Miss Eliza HOIT was born in Burlington, Vt. Oct 23rd, 1810, and died at Bethel, Iowa, April 17th, 1891, aged 80 years and 5 months.

At age 8 she moved with her parents to Malone, N. Y. Here they lived for several years, moving in 1833 to Conneaut, O., where she was married to Jonathan Moulthrop, March 4th, 1837. They spent almost a score of years at Rockton, Ill., and in 1855 moved to Hardin, Iowa, and a few years later they settled near Bethel, where they were residing at the time of Mrs. Moulthrop's death.

Although the subject of this sketch has been in feeble health for several years, yet with some little assistance she was able up to her last illness to look after the affairs of the home. She was a good, kind mother, a devoted wife and much respected by all who know her. When health and circumstances would permit she attended religious services at the church near by in which she manifested a growing interest.

A large audience gathered at Bethel Sunday, a.m., in honor of her memory, C.F. Schell conducting appropriate services. She reached an advanced age. "A shock of corn fully ripe of the master's garner." She rests from the toils and sorrows of life and her works do follow her.

"All is well; life's work is done,
All is well; new joys begun,
All is well' temptations past,
All is well; safe home at last."

To the above bereaved ones we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
