Wilmer Rudolph Nordin, the son of Carl Nordin and Johanna Nelson Nordin, was born May 20, 1889 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville, on April 3, 1925. He died at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, following a stroke on April 3, 1961, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 14 days.

He was married to Minnie Elizabeth Krumm on November 22, 1915. His wife passed away on December 18, 1943. He worked actively as a carpenter in Postville and the surrounding area, until ill health in recent years made it impossible.

Mr. Nordin was a charter member of the Men's organization of this Church when it was formed. He was a member of the Church Council from 1941 to 1945, during the years of the major remodeling and building program. He was in ill health for more than the past ten years. For almost five years, he has been cared for in the private nursing home of Mrs. Stella Laffen in Waukon.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one brother, Oscar Nordin of Bloomer, Wisconsin. He is survived by one brother, Carl Nordin of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; three sisters, Esther, Mrs. Soren Neilsen of Hathaway, Montana; Mary, Mrs. Anton Neilsen of Forsythe, Montana; and Frieda, Mrs. Joe Gatz of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home on April 7 at 2:00 by the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the Postville cemetery.
