Funeral services for Earl J. Ralston, 89, were held Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1982, at 11 a.m. in the Rossville Presbyterian Church. He passed away November 27, 1982 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Livingood of Postville, Iowa. He made his home with them the past 3 1/2 years after suffering a stroke.

Son of George and Mary (Douglass) Ralston, born Nov. 19, 1893 near Rossville, Iowa, in Ludlow Twp. He was a farmer and lived his entire life in the Rossville area. January 12, 1916 he was united in marriage to Phoena Evans at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Brooks in Postville. Nine children were born to this union.

He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Milo (Beulah) Livingood, Postville; Mrs. Ruben (Marjorie) Schutte, Ossian; Mrs. William (Roberta) Livingood, Postville; Mrs. Wilburt (Lucille) Topel, Milwaukee, Wis. and three sons: Gerald Ralston, Escondido, Ca.; Dale Ralston, Lenexa, Kans.; and Leon Ralston, Dubois, Wyo. Twenty-two grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Jessie Stocker, Artesia, Ca.; Mrs. Florence Brandos, Hawthorne, Ca.; Mrs Ed Wedo and Mrs. Charles Sass of Waukon; and one brother David Ralston, Hawthorne, Ca.

Preceding him in death were his wife on Feb. 23, 1967, a son Curtis Ralston, a daughter, Helen, Mrs. George Gelo, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, a brother, John Ralston and 2 sisters, Mrs. Marie Tomlinson and Mrs. Ruth Johnson. Burial in Smithfield Cemetery with Martin Brothers Funeral Service in charge.
