Mrs. Matilda Riley, 76, of Bremerton, Washington, a former resident of Postville, died at a hospital in Bremerton of what was believed to be a heart attack. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital after being found lying on her bed unconscious. Neighbors unable to arouse her, had called the sheriff's office for assistance.

Born and raised in Postville, she moved to Washington some 30 years ago. She was a member of Eastern Star in Iowa and Rebekah lodge 48 in Postville.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Nicolay of Edmonds, Washington and Godfriey of Iowa; two sisters, Emma Nicolay of Seattle and Mrs. Elsa Farris of Spokane; a niece, Mrs. Frank Hamack of Seattle, and a niece of Iowa.
