Final Rites For L. Ruckdaschel

Funeral services for Lyle F. Ruckdaschel were held Friday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Lyle F. Ruckdaschel, son of Walter C. and Anna (Schroeder) Ruckdaschel, was born Dec. 10, 1929 in the home in Postville where he has lived most of his life. He passed away on Wednesday, June 2 at this same home.

He was baptized May 11, 1930 and confirmed on April 18, 1943 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. He attended the Springfield School.

On July 3, 1950 he was married to Jane Ellis. To this union two children were born. They farmed on his home place until 1960 and have continued to live there up to the present time.

Surviving are his wife, Jane, a son, Rick of Waterloo, Iowa, a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Tonya) Valley of Newhall, Iowa, five grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Anna Ruckdaschel of Postville, and a sister, Mrs. James (Darlene) Roberts of Waterloo, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Leo and Lavern.
