Mrs. URBAN (Leona Anna Meyer) SADLER 1902-1990

Funeral services for Mrs. Urban Sadler were held Saturday, Dec. 1, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Kim Schutte provided the special music, accompanied by Mrs. Bernald Martins, organist. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, rural New Albin, IA.

Leona Anna Sadler, daughter of Otto H. and Mary (Sass) Meyer, was born August 24, 1902 at New Albin, IA. She died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 1990 in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

She was baptized on Sept. 14, 1902 in the Lutheran Church at Eitzen, MN by the Rev. Henry Kunz and confirmed Oct. 10, 1915 by the Rev. Karl Bizer. She attended the New Albin Public School.

On June 8, 1921 she married Urban J. Sadler at Waukon. The couple had 4 daughters. In 1940 they moved to Postville. She had been employed in the hot lunch program at Postville Community Schools for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and the Women of the ELCA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, "Steve", who died Dec. 20, 1985, 2 brothers, Edwin and Elmer Meyer, one sister, Vernie Redenbough and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Huebner.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Niara Harris, St. Paul, MN; Delores (Mrs. Wesley Thoma), Cedar Rapids; Eileen (Mrs. Eugene Huebner), Postville and Rose Ann (Mrs. Fred Swartz), Big Rapids, MI; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Lillian Korn, Hastings, MN and 2 sisters-in-law, Coletta Meyer, New Albin and Viola Meyer, Spencer.

Casket bearers: Dwayne Huebner, Richard Harris, Kevin Schultz, Dennis Small, Mark Swartz, Matt Swartz, Larry Claussen, Mark Livingood.
