MRS. MARY SAWVELLE PASSES ON IN WISCONSIN

Mary Sophia Sawvelle (nee Muchow) was born September 6, 1867 in Clayton County, near Postville. She was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville.

On December 29,1892, she was united in marriage to John Sawvelle and three children were born to this union, Elizabeth Sawvelle of West Union, John F. Sawvelle of Postville and Mrs. Herman Schutta of Chippewa Falls, Wis.

Her husband preceded her in death in the year 1897. Practically all her life was spent in Postville, and for the past ten years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Herman Schutta. She had been in poor health for the past year and died February 5th at the home of her daughter in Chippewa Falls, Wis. where she had lived the past two years, being aged 64 years, four months and 19 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss beside her immediate family, one grandchild, Durwood Schutta; two brothers, Henry Muchow of Fergus Falls, Minn., and John Muchow of Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Heckman and Mrs. Chas. Warnholtz, both of Postville.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, February 9th at two o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in this city, Dr. R. B. Garten officiating. Interment in Postville cemetery.

Mrs. Sawvelle was good wife and mother, a kind neighbors and friend, and all who knew her will learn of her passing with regret and sympathize sincerely with those bound to her by a closer tie.
