Hattie Anna (Vogt) Schultz, daughter of John F. and Minna M. (Doerring) Vogt was born January 22, 1903 in Farmersburg Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Thursday, November 9, 1995 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. She was 92 years old.

She was baptized by the Rev. G. F. Braunn on February 3, 1903 at the home of her parents and confirmed April 16, 1916 in St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa, also by the Rev. Braunn. Hattie attended the Hawkeye school near her home and Barber College at Dubuque, Iowa.

On September 6, 1932, she was married to Harvey C. H. Schultz at the home of her parents at Farmersburg. To this union two daughters were born.

The couple lived on a farm near Postville until 1944 when they moved to Postville. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the WELCA and a charter member of the Post-Franklin Study Club. Hattie enjoyed candy making, cake decorating, playing cards and visiting with friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey, who died December 13, 1981, a son-in-law, Clarence B. Moore, and four brothers, Alvin Vogt, Hugo Vogt, Lester Vogt and Roy Vogt.

Surviving are her daughters, Joan A. Moore and Delene E. and her husband, Ronaldo "Jack" Hager; two grandchildren, Larry Moore, DMV and his wife, Mary Jo, and Joyce and her husband, William "Bill" Christofferson, all of Postville. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Jacob B. Moore, Andrew, Michael A. Moore and Matthew P. Moore and Amy L. Christofferson, Jill R. Christofferson and Wade W. Christofferson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harvey Schultz were held Saturday, November 11, 1995 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. Rev. Charles W. Miller officiated. Special music was provided by Sandie Helgerson and Wayne Alderson, accompanied by Joann Martins, organist.

Honorary casket bearers were Michael Moore, Matthew Moore, Jill Christofferson, Wade Christofferson.

Casket bearers were Jacob Moore, Andrew Moore, Amy Christofferson, Marvin Mohs, Darlyle Kirkeberg, Ronald Fox and Raymond Suckow. Interment was in the Postville cemetery. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

POSTVILLE, Iowa -- Hattie A. Schultz, 92, of Postville, died after a brief illness Thursday, Nov. 9, 1995, at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with burial in Postville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Schutte Funeral Home, Postville.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Moore and Dellene (Jack) Hager, both of Postville; two grandchildren, Dr. Larry (Mary Jo) Moore, and Joyce (Bill) Christofferson, both of Postville; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Michael and Matthew Moore, and Amy, Jill and Wade Christofferson.
